Helicopter Twirls Uncontrollably into Palm Fronds at Popular California Beach
An aircraft hovering over a crowded southern California shoreline suddenly commenced twirling uncontrollably, ultimately descending rapidly and plunging into a row of palm groves as spectators watched.
Videos uploaded on social media depict the helicopter beginning to twirl over Huntington Beach then plunging towards the perimeter of the shore, where it gets stuck among palm trees and a staircase near the Pacific Coast highway.
Rescue Operation Update
The Huntington Beach fire department stated five people were transported to a medical facility including a pair who were in the aircraft and were “rescued from the debris” subsequent to the accident on Saturday.
Three individuals on the pavement were injured. Specifics on their injuries were not immediately available.
What led to the incident was not yet disclosed.
Planned Function
Authorities said the helicopter was connected to an annual “Cars and Copters” benefit occasion set for the following day.
