Two Men Accused with Prison Murder of Former Lostprophets Frontman Ian Watkins

Two men have been formally charged with murder after the death in prison of ex-Lostprophets frontman and adjudicated child sex criminal Ian Watkins.

Samuel Dodsworth, 43, and Rashid Gedel, 25 now face murder accusations and are set to face Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, according to law enforcement officials.

Watkins, 48, was in the midst of a 29-year prison term at HMP Wakefield, alongside six more years under supervision, after confessing to numerous sex crimes which included the attempted rape of a baby.

Watkins was taken into custody following a substance-related warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a large number of computers, mobile phones and storage devices were confiscated.
